We offer training for research faculties, research administrators and research assistants from research-oriented Institutions/Universities. Based on a need’s assessment conducted before the training, training modules are modified to satisfy all needs. These pieces of training are especially necessary for beginners to have basic knowledge in research management and administration.

Development of Portfolio

For every research institution, the main hub of funding grants especially from foreign agencies. Detailed development of a portfolio of research faculty is, therefore, necessary to search and sieve out eligible grants from a wide range of search options. Grants search are therefore tailored to the research area of faculty members.

Dissemination of funding opportunities

Searching for eligible grant opportunities from the wide range of search sites available can be a tedious task especially sieving out the eligible grants applicable to you and your institutions. We therefore assist in searching for grants opportunities that are eligible and ensure the due date allows for adequate time to apply.

Proposal Writing

We assist research faculties in developing award-winning proposals for submission. We help to review all requirements from the funding call and cross-check all errors and warnings before submission. We also assist in compiling supporting documents for submission.

Grant Submission

Most grants are submitted electronically however, the inability or skills to navigate the application submission system may lead to the rejection of the application. We have acquired the skills to navigate all known application submission systems and will also ensure that an application is efficiently submitted without delay or errors.

Financial management

IRACAFRICA offers training on how to plan, organize available finances, and control the financial activities of the project at hand. The agency also serves as an advisor to the individual/ institutions on the risk involved in mishandling finances and the consequences they are likely to face if finances are not well managed.

Budgeting preparation

We assist and educate the organization or individual on how to draw budgets, derive expenditure on projects, make realistic assumptions about the income and expenses on the grant.

Project Coordination

It is important to be abreast with the activities of the grant. We have trained personnel who will manage the day to day operations of the project by making sure the resource persons are aware of the deadlines and task of the project. They serve as supervisors and may sometimes organize meetings to inform management on the progress of the grant.

Communication in Research

There is a need for increased awareness on the relevance of communication as a leadership and management tool. We train in improving skills in the application of basic communication tools in research project management. Training in the role of communication in research project

management, communicating the role of the research manager, key steps in promoting communication and collaboration, and basic communication tools in research project management are all offered.

Establishment of an Office of Research Office

We assist Institutes and Universities with non-existent research support to establish and sustain one. We assist in the recruitment of skilled staff, develop an individualized training plan for a recruit, register the Institute with the relevant agencies, and kick-start grant submission.

RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT

Getting started

IRACAFRICA ensures that an Institute/University is eligible for grant submissions by registering them in all required agencies and portals needed for grants submission. They will also be registered to have unique identifiers which will be permanent identities of the Institutes/Universities.

Proposal development

IRACAFRICA will assist individuals in developing their proposals by ensuring that they meet the needs and requirements of the donor agency. IRACAFRICA must ensure the completeness, accuracy, correctness, compliance, and quality of the proposal meets the donor agency’s terms and conditions.

Financial management

We offer training on how to plan and organize available funds and control the financial activities. The agency serves as an advisor to the individual/institution on the consequences involved in mishandling project funds.

Subawards

This is an award provided by the pass-through entity to a sub-recipient to carry out part of the award received by the main recipient. IRACAFRICA takes the institution/individual researchers through the processes needed to be done when you are given a sub-award contract.

Contract negotiations

IRACAFRICA helps to negotiate and execute contracts and acceptance of grant awards. We also develop Memorandum of Understanding, Research Support Grant Agreements, Research-Related Grant Agreements, Research Awards contracts, awardees employment contracts, service contracts, and travel grant notifications. We oversee compliance with funding agency regulations and standards.

Closeout

IRACAFRICA helps close out grants and contracts as per agreed policies. This ensures that most of the needs of the funder and the grantee are satisfactorily met.
